Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PopGr 2–4—This illustrated "biography" of Wonder Woman tells her origin story with clear, simple language and detailed, comics-style illustrations. Children new to chapter books will find it accessible: chapters are short, almost every page contains an illustration, and the large typeface is surrounded by ample white space. All characters are outlined in an illustrated and annotated list of "Friends, Foes and Family," and there is a time line of events, a list of "Fast Facts," and a glossary. As long as children know that Wonder Woman may not fulfill a history assignment, this is an enjoyable read for those new to chapter books or to Wonder Woman. Existing fans of the superheroine, though, will not find anything new here. VERDICT An appealing chapter book for superhero fans graduating from easy readers.—Lisa Goldstein, Brooklyn Public Library--This text refers to the Paperback edition.
